Description
Calendula flowers have a high reputation as a reliable first-aid plant, specialising in restoring damaged skin. High in antioxidants, the flower has anti-inflammatory and antiseptic properties, and is simply an excellent all-rounder. Use on minor scrapes, cuts, insect bites, bruises, and dry or cracked skin.
The process: Calendula oil is made by infusing dried calendula flowers in Australian organic olive oil for several weeks and is then strained and combined with Tasmanian beeswax and vitamin E oil.
The consistency: a little salve goes a long way. The beeswax makes this a firm salve and the oil forms a semi-waterproof barrier to protect wounds.
Skin types: The salve is suitable for any skin type and, on a personal note, has been of particular benefit in soothing my 90 year old mum’s delicate skin. It’s even helped clear up minor cuts and scratches on our alpacas!
Allergy advice: If you are allergic to flowers of the asteraceae family Calendula may cause irritation or an allergic reaction. Do not place on deep wounds.
Ingredients: Australian organic cold pressed olive oil, calendula flowers grown at Yimarra Farm, Tasmanian beeswax, and vitamin E oil.
